This document applies to Macs. If you are using Mac OS X 10.3.4 or later, go here. If you have a PC with Windows. Make sure to use the right cable when you connect iPod or iPod mini to your Mac. iPod models that have a dock connector may come with two cables: - Dock Connector to FireWire cable

- Dock Connector to USB cable

Use the Dock Connector to FireWire cable to connect iPod or iPod mini to your Mac. If you have Mac OS X 10.3.4 or later installed, you can use the Dock Connector to USB cable. With earlier Mac OS X versions, the iPod will not appear in iTunes if you use this cable. iPod mini (Second Generation) comes with a Dock Connector to USB cable. Click here for more information.
